Jake and Michael

Posted by on Jul 02 2004 | TC Journal Summer 2004

What fun yesterday was! After a few hours of school, we loaded up the boys for a hike and a trip to the Old Mission Lighthouse. They were well-behaved. Here’s Jake and I …. he’s relaxing in the sand!mjakeoldmiss.jpg

Back to TC!

Posted by on Jun 30 2004 | TC Journal Summer 2004

We are back in TC for 2 weeks! But I am now a doctoral student so sometime each day will be spent on my classes.

Currently, I’m at Beaners in traverse City. It has everything I need: great iced tea, free wifi and a good atmosphere for study. This may be a good place at me.

Another Cuppa Joe will be my other home base as well!

Up North Notes — Today – Sunday before Memorial Day, 2004

Posted by on May 30 2004 | TC Journal Summer 2004

Stuff I appreciate as I pause for a bit to blog:

Seeing Jake and Charlie swim together for the first time in Spider Lake early this morning.

The friendly, helpful folks at the laundry where I washed all of our towels and bed linens while reading an article about public libraries in Northern Michigan in the Record Eagle.

Brunch at Amical and their excellent staff.

IPod Tunes while reading in an Adirondak chair on the pier in the late evening.

Grilled chicken, fresh Michigan asparagus and a sip of wine for dinner.

The friendly folks at Another Cuppa Joe> where we’ve been connecting.

The nice guy who made my Tea Friday evening at Horizon Books as we discussed the merits of Splenda.
